Seduced by its balance and depth. The nose opens with aromas of ripe black fruits, black cherry, and blackcurrant, accompanied by spicy and slightly woody notes. On the palate, the attack is ample, the tannins are fine and well-integrated, providing a beautiful structure without excess. The finish is long, fresh, and harmonious, leaving a sensation of precision and elegance.

Aged for 15 months in barrels, 60% of which are new.

There's something atypically tertiary about the nose, beautifully defined and concentrated with plenty of fruit, yet very complex and cerebral. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine pearl of acidity, and wonderful harmony. The silky texture belies the underlying structure, and the finish is extraordinarily long. Older vintages of La Gaffelière, like the 1961, are legendary. This ranks alongside them—the best I've ever tasted. Magnificent."
